There seems to be one thing that many fishers do wrong. That's how they catch the jig. Most are fishing right away. Jigging can produce a good amount of bass but the main purpose is to produce quality bass.
In the spring
Fish brush, newly emerged lily pads, harbors and rocks. Try fishing for shallow, warm water. Fish with 1/2 ounce jig mixed with pork.
Summer
Now that so many fishermen are heading for the immediate temptation, you should try to throw. Fish beds, tunnels, grass and flower beds.
Autumn
Try fishing near the wood. Logs, stumps, boat docks and fallen trees are great places to fish for your jig this time of year. Try also the dying lily pads.
In winter
Rivers are perfect for winter fishing. Try to find slow water in the range of 3 to 9 feet. Heavy jigs like 3/8 ounce with pork work well. Deep water can find bass schools in slow-moving waters.
Jigging can be one of the best ways to produce bass if you catch it small enough. Keep the jig in front of the fish, move it slowly and you will have good results if there are fish to be caught.
